Job description
The Paw & Whistle is looking for a passionate and dedicated Dog Training Associate to join our team. As a trainer, you will work closely with our coaches to provide “love, care and training with flair”. You will be responsible for implementing training plans, monitoring dog behavior, and assisting with group play sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist coaches in conducting training and behaviour modification sessions
- Implement training plans under the guidance of coaches
- Monitor dog behavior and provide positive reinforcement
- Assist with group play sessions, ensuring that dogs are safe and well-behaved
- Provide basic care and handling of dogs, including feeding and administering medication
- Maintain a clean and organized training area
- Communicate with dog owners regarding their pet’s progress and behavior
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Passion for working with dogs and a strong interest in dog behavior and training
- Prior experience working with dogs in a professional setting, such as a daycare, kennel, or veterinary clinic
- Basic knowledge of dog behavior, training techniques, and positive reinforcement methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both dogs and people
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £20,159.38-£22,000.00 per year
