If you're a Dog Lover and looking for a part time role and enjoy the outdoors then, Happy Tails Doggy Day-care are seeking an Dog Day Care Assistant & Relief Driver to join our expanding team. The main role is on site supervising dogs, but it will also involve from time to time collecting dogs using our vans from owner’s homes and transporting them to site, covering other drivers holidays. As well as working on site playing with and supervising the dogs in our care. You must have a proven track record of safe driving experience of Ford Transit size vehicles and ideally have experience working with dogs.
We are looking for a person who has proven experience, with manual driving, of vans the size of a Ford Custom Van. You will also need to be a passionate dog lover who has animal or a dog background experience and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of dog behaviour. Happy Tails is a rapidly growing Dog Day Care Centre based in Sevenoaks, Kent on an idyllic site set in 100 acres of woodland and farmland, with two large ponds and a stream set within mature oak trees and a great view of open farmland. It’s the most secure, private spot for dogs of all sizes to run, play and swim with friends.

This is a physically challenging role, driving and working in all weathers outside, lifting, bending whilst controlling and cleaning the dogs.

Working - Tues, Weds & Thurs 4.5hr shifts, 9.30am til 2.30pm, plus overtime is available.

Salary £10.75 per hour upon successful completion of 4–6-week training period. Starting pay during training is £10 per hour.

Part Time Role: 13.5 hours a week, 4.5hr shifts Tues -Thurs, plus overtime.

Must have requirements:

  • You must have a full clean MANUAL driving license and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience (manual driving vans - a Ford Custom Van or similar sized vehicle)
  • Ideally have experience in dog day-care / kennelling / dog training or have a qualification in Animal Management.
  • Live within travelling distance to the Sevenoaks area with knowledge of local roads.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of dog / animal welfare and health safety laws
  • Show a proven history, through references, of your reliability, trustworthiness, and good organisation skills.
  • You will be CRB / Disclosure checked. Multiple References are required.

Responsibilities:

  • The role is a mixture of supervising the dogs on site as well as driving to collect & drop off the dogs from customers’ homes in our vans.
  • Supervising dogs at the centre, playing with, and caring for our dogs.
  • Cleaning the dogs and preparing them to return to their owners.
  • Meeting and greeting new customers
  • Centre hygiene
  • Carry out routine health checks on the dogs and report any physical and behaviour changes

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 13.5 per week

Salary: £10.75 per hour
