We are currently recruiting for a Full time Cover Carer Driver in the Merton area.

About the role:
We are now recruiting at our Woodcote Green daycare for a loyal, motivated full time Cover Carer Driver who will love being surrounded by dogs, caring for their safe and healthy transportation to and from day care and provide our customers with outstanding service.
It is preferable that you live in the Merton area as this is where the route will start and finish.
Our drivers are the face of Bruce’s and are an integral part of our team.
The purpose of a Bruce’s Cover Driver is to support at short notice (or to cover planned holiday etc) and drive our doggy bus. You will be required to to pick up and drop off the dogs and to also help out in the fields to look after our Daycare dogs providing enrichment for them in a safe and happy environment.
This is a customer facing role so you must be well presented, well spoken with good English and outstanding communication skills.
Please note that a DBS is required and you must have a full clean UK licence as our company vehicles are manual.
Key responsibilities:
- Safely transporting dogs to and from Daycare in our Bruce’s Doggy Buses and caring for them in the fields at our centre.
- Excellent customer service skills when talking to our customers at pick up and drop off, as many Drivers are the ‘face of Bruce’s’ for lots of our customers
- Demonstrate our Values at all times; Caring, Reliable, Positive and Passionate
- Safely loading and unloading dogs into and out of the doggy busses
- Maintaining a clean, comfortable and hygienic doggy bus (including cleaning the dogs down when it's muddy!)
- Ensure the safety of all dogs is never compromised whilst they remain in our care (leads, gates, speeding, cornering).
- Upon arrival at the Centre support the other carers to deliver all enrichment routines (including photos), contributing suggestions to improve dog behavior.
- Following customers instructions for pick up and drop off, e.g. lunches, where to leave the dog if the owner is not in, securing property.
- Bathing, washing and towelling dogs prior to drop off.
- Check each dog’s notes before dropping off for any updates to give to customers
- Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and legally compliant
- You will be the face of Bruce’s for 50% of our customers, you will have the confidence and service ability to deal with customer queries as well as explaining dog behaviour concerns at the doorstep.
