Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is a private 46-bed acute psychiatric hospital for adults, located on the edge of London in Hayes, Kent.
Rated 'good' by the CQC in 2021, the hospital provides care and treatment for patients with a wide range of mental health issues both as inpatients and day patients. Hayes Grove specialises in providing care for patients with acute mental health conditions, addiction issues - both drug and alcohol, and also has a specialist Eating Disorders unit and NHS acute service. The hospital is situated close to excellent transport links to central London, Croydon and Bromley areas and parking is available locally.
The Hospital is situated in a leafy setting, with excellent public transport links to central London, Croydon and the surrounding Borough of Bromley areas. Free car parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the hospital.
The Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is looking to recruit a number of motivated and conscientious individuals with an interest in Mental Health to join our Independent Hospital Manager team.
In this important role you will participate as a panel member, in ensuring that patients’ rights are fully explored and upheld. This will require the consideration of reports from the clinical team involved in the patient’s care and the views of the patient, before determining whether the criteria for detention are met.
Independent Hospital Managers are accountable to the Hospital. You are required to provide your own indemnity insurance for this role.
Tasks would include:
- Site Quarterly Meetings
- Review of Section Papers
- Sit on Managers Hearing Panel
- Visit Wards to speak with Service Users
Experience we are looking for:
Previous work within the social work/AMHP or legal sector, or a particular interest or experience with working in mental health services is a benefit.

HMs are remunerated on a sessional basis and full training will be provided for the role. Hospital Managers must attend at least one Hospital Manager’s forum meeting during a 12 month period.
