Document Controller – Environment

Thames Water (Greater London & Surrounding Areas)

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Document Controller to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work on our Thames Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the London area within the Thames Water region and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

As a Document Controller you will provide a support service to our project teams by ensuring that project design information and documentation is captured and stored in a methodical manner within Viewpoint for Projects (Our Common Data Environment (CDE)) for ease of retrieval by site teams.

It will be your role to support the design team ensuring all design information is controlled and maintained in a methodical manner and issued within set time scales and ensure company and project information management protocols and procedures are followed

Day-to-day, you will manage the Common Data Environment by creating internal and external document containers with Common Data Environment template or inviting and revoking internal and external users, manage registers and audit site records regularly to ensure compliance with our BMS processes and procedures and generate and issue reports to internal/external parties when required.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Viewpoint Champion for the project team as well as support the relevant Teams with the workflow process and linking information to virtual containers within our Common Data Environment.

Your role forms an essential link in the supply chain, involving effective liaison and communication between the design and site teams including key documentation and handover information. You’ll build effective working relationships with all members of the site team, up to and including Director level. You’ll show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honesty.

About You:

Alongside your knowledge and/or experience of the Document Control Process at operational level and a highly organised approach to work, we’re seeking somebody with excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

To be successful in the role of Document Controller, we’d like you to have knowledge and experience of using Viewpoint for Projects or the aptitude to learn new software and technology tools quickly and be conversant in using Microsoft Office applications.

You’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work and communicate with all members of the site team and the wider team if required as well as the ability to effectively and proactively co-ordinate multiple activities under pressure.
