Job description
We are a well-established fit out / construction company and are looking for a Document Controller with previous experience in the residential construction sector. This position will be responsible for ensuring all project documentation is up to date and responsible for the compilation of the health and Safety handover documentation.
Based in central London, this is a full-time position.
The role:
To control documents received daily, ensuring all drawings are administered and distributed promptly.
Provide accurate and timely information regarding status of all drawings, O&M manuals, method statements and risk assessments.
Manage and maintain the project on the system throughout its life cycle. Maintain an awareness of project team members, client, trade, contractor, architect, QS.
Develop and implement processes related to document control and management. Checking quality of documents. Monitoring processes, Producing listings. Coordinate all activities related to the Drawing Control procedure, including technical documents, drawings and commercial correspondence.
Input document data into the standard registers ensuring that the information is accurate and up to date. Generate the various control reports as required. Typing of site documents and follow up all site needs. Ensure controlled copies of latest approved documents and drawings and their distribution clearly. Ensure out of date documents and drawings are superseded.
Create and update trackers and registers and ensure information is accessible. Maintain the files and control logs as required by the Project. Assist in the creation of Monthly Progress Report. Liaise with Design and Site team to receive various reports in a timely manner. Ensure progress photos are taken on site.
Provide tracking report. Compile monthly Progress reports and ensure its approved by Project Manager.
Assist in creation of the Health & Safety file and ensure it is done 6 weeks prior to the final completion of project.
Provide any other administrative assistance required by the project team.
Skills
NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration
Previous experience working with a construction / fit out company
Knowledge of document control and construction industry processes
Ability to prioritise
Excellent administration and communication skills
Experience using an electronic document control system
Attention to detail and accuracy
Microsoft Office
