This role designs and supports delivering of BTs DNS solutions and associated services. The role holder must be able to work in an agile and dynamic environment to ensure BT has a fully resilient DNS service with a rich overlay of services that differentiate us from other service providers and generate additional revenue. As the DNS Services Design Specialist, you will use recognised technical strengths, influencing, and negotiating skills to clearly explain your ideas and proposals to gain broad consensus when necessary.
This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting edge platforms, 5G, IOT. There is also an opportunity for a hybrid working model (3 days in any of our Birmingham, Bristol, Ipswich, and London offices and 2 days wherever you like).
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, developing, testing and deployment of new DNS solutions
- Designing overlay services and support features on the new infrastructure
- Problem-solving as necessary
- Drive the transformation of the technology platform and operating model in your area.
- Successfully delivering complex projects with competing demands and timescales.
The skills and experience you will need
- Previous experience with large-scale system design
- Minimum of five years of Linux experience
- Ability to use OpenStack with the Linux OS
- DNS design experience
- Dev ops
- Ansible
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Enthusiasm and willingness to get hands-on supporting implementation teams
- Scripting (Python / Ansible)
- Experience with OpenExchange Power DNS
