About the Role
The Pharmaceutical Business Unit of the Packaging Division is looking for a dynamic Key Account Manager to join the team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a solid experience in cluster or national account management and who’s looking to take the next step in their career by gaining exposure to global accounts. In this role your mission is to ensure the efficient management and growth of existing customers. You will work with established Key Central Accounts from the Pharma segment, with a clear business development approach, providing them with tailored sustainable packaging solutions in an evolving market place.
To succeed in the role, you will need to be comfortable operating in a highly matrixed international environment, working with an indirect sales team to develop and grow accounts within your portfolio. You will be responsible for setting and implementing the key accounts’ strategy as well as assessing their global business development potential areas, with a drive for results in achieving KPIs.
You’ll operate in a professional manner and with the highest integrity standards, developing the right solutions for each customer with their needs in mind. You’ll also be an excellent internal networker, you’ll effectively work in cross-functional and cross-regional teams, and, be an ambassador for the DS Smith brand.
Note: This role is home based and will require up to 50% travel, across DS Smith and customer sites in Europe.

About You
- A proven track record of developing new and existing accounts, selling at a senior level in a B2B environment
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience of which at least 2 to 3 are in key account commercial roles
- A strong commercial and reporting discipline
- Commercially astute, consultative, proactive, self-motivated, ambitious, entrepreneurial
- A strong influencer, relationship builder, collaborator and communicator
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Preferred requirements:
- An understanding of the packaging industry (not limited to corrugated)
- Knowledge of the global pharmaceutical environment and supply chain is a strong plus
