Role summary/purpose of job Reporting into the D&I Engagement Manager, the Specialist will work as part of the global D&I and wellbeing team. They will support the team to deliver on our diversity and inclusion and wellbeing priorities and deliverables with a focus on client and external organisation engagement ensuring we maximise our efficiency, organisation, and impact in this space. Function Overview The HR Function delivers all HR services across the firm and works closely with all Practice Groups and Business Services to deliver against our core global people strategy and key priorities of providing a culture we care about; outstanding career development; an inclusive working environment; and a rewarding deal for all. The HR Global Expert teams work directly with the business and with HR Business Partners to provide the right tools and frameworks to drive the people priorities through a regional based team. The D&I team are responsible for driving the firms D&I strategy, activities, and programming, in collaboration with leadership and colleagues globally. Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience) Have a sound understanding of the firm’s D&I and wellbeing engagement strategy with clients and external organisationsCoordinate responses to global client requests, including complex data requests, working to ensure we are as efficient and impactful as possible. Responsible for data review, reporting and analysis and drafting of narrative responsesProvide reporting and insights to leadership and D&I/HR colleagues on trends and volume of requests and engagement with clients and external organisationsLiaise with external organisations and communicate opportunities for colleagues. First point of contact for key external global organisationsBuild out and standardise our client and communications toolkit and ensure this is kept up to date (e.g., client deck, pitch guidance etc.)Collaborate and coordinate with Marketing Business Development (MBD), Responsible Business and HR colleagues to deliver on our D&I programming and priorities including organising events and communicationsSupport the D&I Engagement Manager with the delivery of the prioritisation strategy of award submissions, and draft award submissions responsesKeep up to date with market research and best practice on D&I and wellbeing Essential Expertise in diversity and inclusion, ideally in a legal or professional services environmentAbility to multi-task and effectively prioritiseStrong IT skills, including Excel and PowerPointAbility to critically examine data and draw out insightsStrong interpersonal and impactful communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholdersStrong attention to detailAbility to demonstrate judgement and navigate complex, sensitive mattersAble to collaborate well with other teams in HR and MBD and across the firm more broadly Desirable Experience of using HR Systems in particular Workday Freshfields Overview Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is a major international law firm, providing business law advice of the highest quality.
