About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile person to join the team within Cambridge City. As well as the Central Library, this includes the libraries at Arbury Court, Barnwell Road, Cherry Hinton, Milton Road and Rock Road. We also plan to open a new library next year in Darwin green.

The postholder will assist and deputise for the Area Library Manager in the management of staff and volunteers as well as the day-to-day running of these libraries, so candidates need to be able to travel between them. The successful candidate will need to work flexibly, with a requirement for some lone, weekend and evening working.

The successful candidate will have a flair for working with people and be able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers. They will be excellent at multi-tasking, resourceful and willing to lead a team.

Experience of working in a customer service environment is essential, but we welcome applications from all walks of life, who could bring new perspectives to this exciting opportunity. We therefore encourage applications from all areas of our community.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 7th June at Central Library, Cambridge
