Discover Impactful Work:
Accountable for providing leadership and direction to teams performing Distribution related processes. Ensures the safe, compliant and profitable execution of all related processes to achieve department targets and facilitates continuous improvement
A day in the Life:
- People Management responsibility for multiple teams, ensuring PMD/IDP/Goals in place, ensuring team members are sufficiently qualified/skilled, experienced and knowledgeable to carry out the requirements of their role in a complaint, safe and productive manner, and understand the 4i values and competencies expected of them.
- Lead/and or participate in PPI and projects relating to the receiving, shipping and inventory control of finished goods. Proactively improve processes, reduce and remove waste using PPI methodology and tools.
- Manage costs and resources to achieve critical metrics and improve departmental capacities and efficiencies in line with AOP expectations.
- Taking ownership for reporting and critical issues to management as needed
- Order processing through docusphere/E1 for departmental requirements.
- With guidance from the DC manager, deputize in their absence on agreed duties
- Ensure that all internal materials are in place to complete order processing daily.
- Ensure as a department we adhere to strict GDP (Good Distribution Practice) guidelines.
- Ensure relevant Safety protocols are followed (e.g. FLT, Pedestrian, Audits, Gembas, First Aiders, etc) and high safety standards are maintained.
- To ensure Quality compliance within the teams; SOPs, WIs, use of Agile, Shipping requirements, Audit ready, Trackwise and ensure relevant targets are met.
- Represent Distribution at Customer audits, visits, taking ownership of critical issues and ensure focus within teams on the customer experience.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Association/Qualification with a professional body in Ops/Manufacturing/Supply Chain.
- NEBOSH or similar Health and Safety qualification preferred
- Lean/Six Sigma qualifications advantageous.
- Good written and verbal English
Experience
- Operational experience/knowledge of MRP/ERP (Trax, E1) systems/order management processes.
- Demonstrable role model leadership behaviours to lead people effectively and deliver required targets.
- Demonstrable experience on process change and development.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to deliver results - customer demands and expectations in a pressurised environment.
- Strong understanding of the demands of a Distribution environment including internal and external customer demands. This will include experience of working within/across multiple departments.
- Excellent communicator, being confident in communications with customers (internally and externally) across the business while understanding their needs and demands.
- A continuous process improvement attitude with the ability to effectively lead and manage change.
- Proactive, pragmatic and in control
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Warehouse environment, cold storage environments, PPE required.
