Job Title: Receipt & Distribution Operative

Location: Queens Medical Centre Facilities Operations, Estates Building, Nottingham, NG7 2UH
Pay: £11.45 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – 08.00 – 16.00 Monday to Friday

Overview
We are currently looking for a Receipt & Distribution Operative to join our friendly team. Our Receipt & Distribution Operatives are primarily concerned with the movement of goods and services from “A to B” in the most efficient way.
To co-ordinate the receiving of goods into the Receipt & Distribution Stores and the distribution to the designated departments ensuring that the relevant paperwork is signed and completed.
You will be based at the City Campus; however, you will be expected to participate in cross-site working at the QMC Campus.
Your duties will include:
· Checking goods against delivery notes, with particular attention to special instructions and damaged goods – signing for receipt
· Collection and delivery of parcels from wards and departments
· Organise for non-stock items to be delivered with NHS SC deliveries
· Answering the telephone and dealing with queries and complaints from wards/departments, supplies, finance and couriers (as requested)
· Booking in goods onto Integra Computer System (as requested)
· You will be responsible for ensuring all hospital entrances, corridors, wards and departments are kept clean and free of empty NHS SC cages.
· Undertake specific Receipt and Distribution cleaning both internally and externally as directed by the Team Leader/Managers, wearing appropriate protective equipment where necessary
· Maintain electric vehicles and equipment to defined standards at all times, reporting any defects to the Team Leader. This will include ensuring that all vehicles are in operational readiness, carry out safety checks including re-charging and topping up of batteries as required
· Should the need arise, provide operational support for the wider supply chain function (Materials Management and Bulk) across all Hospital sites. Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required as appropriate to the Role.
Skills required:
· NVQ Level 1 in Warehousing & Distribution or equivalent level of knowledge and experience equating to 12 months experience working in a large stores/warehouse.
· Working knowledge of computers and a basic knowledge of Health & Safety is required in order to correctly complete incident forms and report any untoward incidents to the Team Leader
· Must have a good working knowledge of COSHH procedures and to work within the Hospital’s Health & Safety policy.
· An understanding of storekeeping procedures along with ongoing job training.
· Experience in the use of electric vehicles i.e., pallet trucks, master movers etc.
· Must provide own safety shoes.

- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently
- Build pallets and containers for shipment

Qualifications:
- Mechanical knowledge and experience operating warehouse equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Proficient in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
