REPORTS TO: General Manager – Finance and Operations

Job Description:

Reporting into the GM – Finance and Ops, the Distribution and Operations Manager will assume full responsibility for the entire UK warehousing function based on Newton Aycliffe Business Park.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and implement production and quality plans based around customer service standards.
• Develop and implement effective warehouse layout that accounts for product flow, equipment and product handling systems.
• Establish, follow and enforce a high level of safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements.
• Manage and coordinate the department's staffing and operational activities, and plan future capacity requirements for labour and packaging
• Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress of permanent and agency staff resource.
• Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
• Co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods.
• Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage on Netsuite and Peoplevox
• Liaise with transport companies to ensure parcels are collected and dispatched effectively.
• Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
• Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Person Requirements & Skills:

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to work to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Numerate and analytical with clear commercial awareness
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High IT literacy including knowledge of scanner based WMS
• Pro-active, independent thinking
• Flexible and resourceful - you must be able to prioritise and organise your own workload
• To be creative and/or open-minded and the ability to problem solve
• Flexible approach to working hours when needed

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and third parties
• Drive, enthusiasm and passion for our industry, brand and product
• Experience in using Netsuite or another Stock Management System
• Experience of Microsoft Office and/or Google Sheets
