One of our Clients require Pharmaceutical/Dispensing Technicians to work at their Pharmacies across the UK.
Our clients are currently looking for a full-time pharmacy Dispenser or Dispensing Technician dedicated to excellent patient care to join thier team at our various different sites in England, United Kingdom.
The opportunity: This is a fast-paced environment in which you will be a core member of the pharmacy and healthcare team, therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience within a busy community pharmacy environment with high volume dispensing and be willing to learn and exhibit excellent team-working skills. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Helping the team with the smooth running of the dispensary
- dispensing medication effectively and safely managing stock levels and minimising losses
- assist with counter sales
- working with the pharmacist to deliver services and achieve company targets
- dealing with queries from patients and GP surgeries
- checks received prescriptions for legality and accuracy
- prepares drugs and medicines under the supervision of pharmacist
- labels and checks items prior to dispensing
- maintains records of prescriptions received and drugs issued
- advises patients or customers on the use of drugs prescribed or medication purchased over the counter
- checks stock levels, orders new stock from pharmaceutical companies and ensures that drugs are stored appropriately
- assists with ad-hoc tasks if necessary
Role description:
Dispensing technicians are responsible for preparing, supplying and administering medicines. They are key members of the pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams and play a vital role in helping patients get the best outcome from their medicines. The role involves liaising with patients, other healthcare professionals and customers to ensure the effective and safe use of medicines. Dispensing technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist and are registered healthcare professionals that are responsible and accountable for their own accurate and safe practice.
Key responsibilities:
- providing safe and effective pharmacy services
- supplying medicines and medical devices to patients, whether on prescription or over the counter and providing information on symptoms and products achieving the best outcomes through a patient’s medicines
- assembling and accuracy checking medicines for prescriptions
- providing information to patients, carers and other members of the healthcare team
- managing areas of medicines supply such as dispensaries
- supervising other pharmacy staff responding to patients’ and customers’ questions both face to face and over the phone
- pre-packing, assembling and labelling medicines
- referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
