Salary: Scale 3 / 4 - £21,432 - £25,353 (plus 20% shift allowance and 269.1 hours Weekend Work Enhancement)
Hours: 37 hours per week

Cleveland Police are seeking current operationally competent Dispatchers from other Police Forces to join their team of Force Contact Officers - Dispatchers, working at the Community Safety Hub in Hemlington, Middlesbrough.
The Cleveland Police Force Control Room takes an average of 1100 calls a day, where no two calls are ever quite the same. You’ll be part of the wider policing family helping to keep Cleveland safe, identifying and responding appropriately to those who are most vulnerable in our communities, as well as being part of a team of great people.

Principle duties as a Dispatcher include:
- Answer incoming emergency calls for service to the Police in line with National Call Handling Standards (NCHS), Force Policies and Approved Professional Practice (APP).
- Prioritise and categorise calls for service using THRIVE and National Standards of Incident Recording (NSIR) route forwarding incidents to the appropriate resource within the Control Room.
- Resolution without the requirement to deploy officers where applicable and in accordance with Force policy.
- Use Force and National computer systems as required to accurately update and retrieve key information.
- Deploy and control Force resources via Force systems, e.g. radio/mobile device/phone/email.
- Dispose and close incidents and crimes adhering to NSIR and National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS).

In particular, if you have excellent communication skills, customer service skills and IT skills with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure along with empathy and resilience, then you could be an excellent addition to the team.
To be eligible to apply for this post you must be a current operationally competent Dispatcher in a Police Force. Candidates who have left the role of Dispatcher within the last 12 months will also be considered.
You must be able to provide a current PDR which demonstrates your operational competence for the role of Dispatcher.

As a Force Contact Officer you will be eligible for 24 days annual leave, increasing to 29 days upon completion of five years service.
