Position Description:
Receives emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, ambulance, probation, children & youth services, and other agencies. Dispatches the proper crew to the emergency or nonemergency scene. Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), or Military experience preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate.
This is a non-union position that will require working weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight hours. Valid Driver’s License required as well as reliable form of transportation. Must be able to pass extensive police background check. Some knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing transmissions by telephone and radio; some knowledge of office routine; some knowledge of the geography, highway, and street system of the County and surrounding area; ability to speak clearly and distinctly ability to multi-task and type at least 30wpm.
