Overall Purpose of the Role

  • Join our award-winning Disney InsightWorks team, the research team that supports all things Disney advertising. We are looking for a Commercial Research & Insight Manager to lead campaign measurement and effectiveness for advertising with Disney+.

  • This varied role will involve developing measurement and effectiveness solutions for our advertising partners.

  • The role will evolve alongside the platform and our advertising offering. Therefore, we are seeking a self-starter who is excited to innovate in line with the industry, aiming to develop market-leading measurement and evaluation solutions for Disney+ advertising partners.

  • The role will be crucial in creating meaningful and effective advertising campaigns, ensuring that our partners get the most out of the amazing Disney+ platform and the connection it offers to our fans.

This position requires someone to work from our Hammersmith offices 4 days a week.

Areas of Responsibility

Key elements and required results of the role:

  • Manage the development of data, measurement, and effectiveness solutions to champion the effectiveness of Disney+ to for our advertising partners. This will include incorporating measurement solutions, working with third-party vendors, and executing and managing custom research studies to assess campaign effectiveness for clients.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and key internal stakeholders to "future-proof" our measurement and tracking methods for client campaigns, aligning with industry standards and the latest innovations in data technology.

  • Become an expert in BVOD (Broadcaster Video on Demand) and Premium AVOD (Advertising Video on Demand) audiences, proactively staying updated on category developments. Co-develop and champion the company's stance on industry measurement for CTV (Connected TV).

  • Drive key thought leadership initiatives on the streaming industry and the Disney+ advertising offering, overseeing them from concept to delivery.

  • Plan, manage, implement, and present research projects covering all aspects of campaign planning and effectiveness. This will involve all stages of the project, including questionnaire scripting and delivering presentations to senior-level clients.

  • Utilize a variety of industry sources to deliver engaging insights and compelling reasons to engage with Disney+, with a focus on the UK market while supporting the EMEA Regional sales team.

  • Foster collaborative work with the wider analytics, product, and research teams, ensuring that all relevant tools and insights are leveraged for commercial advantage.

  • This role is part of the commercial research team for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) EMEA. The team works across all TWDC brands, providing research and support for commercial advertising sales and partnerships. These brands include, but are not limited to: National Geographic, ESPN, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney, and Disney+.

  • As the main dedicated resource for Disney+ within the team, this role has a wide scope of influence across senior stakeholders, both internally and externally. This includes, but is not limited to, sales directors and senior advertising management.

  • Supporting briefs and research projects is crucial in maintaining relationships with our most important clients.

  • The role reports to the team lead.

  • Budget management is done in conjunction with the team lead.

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

Experience, Qualifications and People Management experience

  • Experience in a commercial research team in a TV, SVOD or digital media company

  • Independently manage media effectiveness research projects from start to finish, including questionnaire scripting and data analysis.

  • Possess experience and/or technical understanding of integrating third-party datasets into advertising platforms for comprehensive measurement. Desirable skills include matching first-party and third-party data for use in campaign measurement and effectiveness.

  • Capable of presenting research findings to senior-level stakeholders in an engaging and story-driven manner.

  • Strong numerical skills and a passion for data analysis, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights with commercial relevance.

  • Ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable insights for the advertiser

  • Solid understanding/experience in providing research support for media owners.

  • Solid understanding/experience of cross-media measurement techniques, with preference given to experience in TV and digital platforms.

  • Desirable experience with statistical software such as Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, and Adobe.
