About this Role:
Windstream is seeking a Director of PR and social media to join a growing Paid/Owned/Earned team reporting to the SVP Brand and Creative. As the Director of PR and social media, your role is to lead and oversee the development and execution of comprehensive public relations and social media strategies that puts Kinetic at the center of news and conversations that help to build Kinetic’s brand image, reputation, and online presence through effective communication, media relations, and engaging social media campaigns. You will manage marketing professional(s) and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
What You’ll Do:
- Create plans to enhance the organization's brand visibility, reputation, and awareness across traditional and digital channels. Establish clear goals, objectives, and KPIs to measure success.
- Build and nurture relationships with journalists, media outlets, bloggers, and other influencers.
- Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to secure positive media coverage.
- Proactively pitch stories and serve as a spokesperson for the organization when necessary.
- Develop and execute social media strategies to engage the target audience, increase brand awareness, and drive customer engagement.
- Manage social media platforms, including content creation, posting schedules, community management, and monitoring for trends and conversations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop compelling content for PR campaigns, social media platforms, blogs, articles, speeches, and other communication channels. Ensure consistent messaging, brand voice, and storytelling across all channels.
- Track, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of PR and social media campaigns.
- Use data and insights to optimize strategies, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of PR and social media professionals. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, communications, sales, and creative to ensure alignment and integration of messaging and initiatives.
- Stay abreast of emerging PR and social media trends, technologies, and best practices. Identify new opportunities and innovative strategies to stay ahead of the competition and deliver impactful results.
Do You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in PR and social media management, with a focus on brand building, reputation management, and community engagement.
- Strong understanding of PR strategies, media relations, crisis management, and social media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
- Experience managing and leading a team, with the ability to motivate and develop talent.
- Proficiency in social media analytics and monitoring tools to measure and report on campaign performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations.
- Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PR and social media.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Qualifications
Desired Qualifications: College degree and 10 years professional level experience with 3-5 years supervisory experience; or 14 years professional level related experience with 3-5 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience desired.
