Working collaboratively with the Leadership team, you will have strategic and tactical responsibility for developing and implementing the manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising production levels and driving operational excellence.

You will lead, direct and monitor all aspects of production in our manufacturing campus which includes people and budgetary management and you will provide strong, clear leadership and vision that helps to inspire and motivate our employees to achieve excellence.

About The Role

  • Lead the Operation teams at our Cookstown and Monkstown facilities
  • Identify and implement best practice manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and procedures to support and continuously improve business performance
  • Identify, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the manufacturing function to ensure that all projects are delivered safely, within defined cost parameters and on time to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the manufacture of products, ensuring production, labour performance, material utilisation and quality standards are consistently met
  • Oversee co-ordination of sub-contract operations; working closely with procurement on forming strategic partnerships, both locally and globally
  • Promote a safe working environment, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitated, and a Home Safe Every Day ethos is continuously demonstrated
  • Identify capital investment opportunities to improve underlying facility efficiency
  • Prepare and manage the annual Manufacturing budget and forecasts and feed into the overarching operations and supply chain strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Board Directors, shareholders, customers and suppliers
  • Support project management and cross functional activity required for project execution
  • Oversee schedules and assignments for the multiple sub-departments within the operational facilities
  • Drive Continuous Improvement across all manufacturing related areas of the business especially around design for manufacturing, assembly and installation
  • Create and refine systems to minimise error, improve quality and bolster productivity
  • Build and maintain a collaborative working environment in line with the CDE culture, and through your own behaviours, demonstrate personal commitment to our organisational values of Believe It Possible, Create Excitement, Do It Right and Elevate Each Other
  • Be fully involved in the performance management, attendance management and other employee relations activity within your area of responsibility
  • Drive the personal development of the Operations team through coaching, mentoring, internal and external development opportunities and make recommendations to enable the achievement of the Company’s strategic plan
  • Support with recruitment requirements for Operations in line with the company resource plan.
  • Champion adherence to company policy and practice, compliance and governance across the business
  • Carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role

Required Criteria

  • 3rd level (or above) qualification in a relevant discipline OR demonstration of significant comparable experience
  • 5 years’ experience of leading in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience of leading a large team
  • Fully conversant with all relevant Health & Safety regulations
  • Experience of working with ERP systems and MS Office particularly Word & Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, design, testing and implementation
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing principles
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in a multi site manufacturing environment
  • Experience within a similar industry
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen experience
  • 2 years Design experience (SW & Practical)
  • Experience of supporting during significant ramp-up in production capability
