Operations Director at EBar
EBar operates a fleet of automated self-service draught beer dispensing units that are moved around the UK providing high volume dispense capacity at busy sporting and cultural events. The Operations Director is responsible for the efficient running of our UK operations. This includes logistics planning, personnel management and the implementation of new managment systems.
This role is based in West Yorkshire with our workshop currently situated in Cleckheaton, Bradford.
Introduction
We are a small, fast-growing company that is transforming the hospitality industry. The mobile EBar automated self-service dispenser, enables customers to order, pay and dispense themselves drinks at twice the speed of a typical event bar. We want event-goers, wherever they are in the world, to have a drink without having to endure the frustrations of long bar queues. The Operations Director role
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Operations Director who will pursue operational excellence and ensure that we delight our customers. You will:
- Efficiently direct the assignment of people, vehicles and EBar units to deployments around the UK
- Manage the operational field team, ensuring that personnel receive high quality training and follow established operational processes
- Plan for growth, hiring personnel so that we have the resources that we need to achieve our plans
- Lead the Account Management team which liaises with customers and plans EBar deployments
- Continously work to help make operations more efficient through the introduction of new processes, technologies and working practices
- Work with the Managing Director to grow the business grow rapidly in the UK and overseas
This role will involve travel across the UK. Your typical week will involve planning time in the office, directing personnel in the workshop, event supervision and visiting customer sites. Events typically take place in evenings and on weekends. There is no typical week at EBar - you must be comfortable with working flexibly and managing your own time. You won’t shy away from doing what is required to get the job done safely and you will provide strong leadership when things inevitably change.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be well motivated with strong teamwork and practical skills. You will be comfortable pitching in if required. You will have an entrepreneurial or creative spark but will also be operationally focussed, constantly thinking about how things can be improved and unafraid to challenge how we do things.
Essential skills, personal characteristics and experience include:
- Ability to work within and lead a small team
- Hospitality or Food & Beverage industry management experience
- Strong grasp of Microsoft Office productivity tools
- Self-starter who will get things done without close supervision
- Flexibility, creative problem solving, and a passion for the events industry
- Physically capable of moving and lifting our equipment
- Full driving license, mobility and a willingness to travel.
- Covid vaccinated to the requirements of our customers
