Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country's top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
At AoPS, we believe the best way to solve all of the future's toughest problems is to invest in all of the problem solvers of the future. That is why we are launching a new business unit called Beast Academy Classroom to bring our curriculum to hundreds of thousands of elementary students directly through in-school instruction.
For 10 years the Beast Academy curriculum has been providing engaging, rigorous math challenges to elementary school students. Beast Academy Classroom will build on that knowledge and experience to deliver a best-in-class, day-to-day math education experience for students in Grades 1-6, teachers, families and school leaders.
We seek a Director of Operations to join the Beast Academy Classroom team pursuing its ambitious vision, mission and goals.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead tactical execution of the academic year. Includes tracking, execution, and maintenance of yearly recurring projects, tasks, and responsibilities, such as academic year curriculum pilots.
- Lead operational strategic planning. Design, deliver and scale operations to deliver for Beast Academy Classroom products and services.
- Collaborate with leadership on overall product strategy, including offerings, projects and priorities, and policies.
- Design, hire and develop a cross-functional operational team responsible for 1) managing educational services and customer support and 2) delivering instructional coaching and professional development
- Identify and prioritize operational continuous improvement opportunities; map, monitor and manage processes; work cross-functionally with other teams to implement improvements
- Serve as the main point-of-contact for operational inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, concerns, and cross-functional collaboration while driving cross-functional trouble-shooting, planning, and coordination.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience building program or operations management for a new product, within an educational institution or edtech company a plus.
- Solid people management experience, including the ability to manage managers.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and consider multiple different perspectives.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Occasional travel required to visit partner schools, including overnight out-of-state travel.

This full-time position will be based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. The full salary range for this position is $100-130K, with a variable year-end bonus. Some benefits of the position include:
