Job description
We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.
We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.
Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.
The Opportunity
At Multiverse, our people team is here to support every individual to fulfill their potential - and therefore Multiverse’s.
After a period of intense scale, we are now reaching the size and maturity to take our people partnering strategy to the next level. You will work with our leadership team in enabling our highly engaged, ambitious and intelligent Multiversers to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
You will get to form deep partnering relationships with our C-suite and VPs, to ensure a consistent Multiverse approach, tailored to suit the teams’ unique needs. We have brilliant foundations already in place and a team of excellent people partners to lead and partner alongside - we would love to meet someone who is ready to join us for an amazing ride.
In this role, you will:
Build and execute an effective end-to-end partnering strategy, implementing specific programmes to drive performance, engagement and wellbeing for our COO, CRO and CFO orgs
Directly line manage our people partners to the COO and CRO, whilst also taking ownership for your own client groups (CFO and People team)
Work with the Inclusion & Diversity Director to ensure that DEI is at the heart of what we do, and embedded into all our processes
Work with the Senior Leaders in your orgs to ensure that our hiring planning and organisation growth support our planned scale
Optimise role design, compensation philosophies, and incentive plans to drive growth and performance, for non-traditional & unique roles
Lead on complex employee relations matters that are escalated beyond our ER team, supporting a resolution that leads to the best outcomes for all
Design and deliver custom career development approaches, L&D programmes, succession planning and engagement action planning activities
The right candidate:
Need for speed: You’ve held a senior leadership role in a people team for a fast-paced scaleup that’s grown rapidly, ideally with a presence in both the US and UK.
Subject matter expertise: You have demonstrable experience of leading a people partnering strategy, and have a deep understanding of how strategic people practices reduce risk and enhance performance.
Passion: You believe in the power of people teams to build thriving companies and cultures. You stop at nothing to make sure that this is felt in every team in the business.
Right-hand person: You know how to build relationships with managers of all levels - you’re empathetic, compassionate, effective and commercially minded.
Thought leader: We’re not looking for your traditional people leader - we’re looking for someone who sees people operations as a product and who innovates constantly to improve the employee experience.
Inspirational: You are an inspiring people leader, a great manager and someone that people inherently trust and who earns that trust.
People partnering guru: You know your stuff in the people space and are a leader on the best, most innovative people practices.
The job is never done: You pride yourself on your attention to detail and you understand that you can only expect excellence if you demonstrate it yourself as a leader.
Benefits:
Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 6 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days
Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support
Hybrid & remote working - weekly or monthly visits to the London office
Equity - every Multiverse employee has ownership in the business through equity options

This will never change.
Safeguarding:
All posts in Multiverse involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding.
