Working closely with the COO and Operations Leadership Team, this role will ensure we fully utilise data from a range of sources to enable fast and effective decision making for Operations. The successful candidate will lead the Operational areas in the use of advanced analytics, technology and people changes, to drive the next level of operational performance for British Airways.
about the role
- Builds, develops, and leads a successful team that can provide the tools, technology and processes that Operational departments need to optimise their performance
- Ensures the delivery of the analytical capability and insight to drive improved decision making
- Ensures there is a “single source of truth” when it comes to Operations data, dashboards and analysis
- Drives a Step-change operational performance (OTP/cost/productivity/ NPS) by enabling better decision making across Operations
- Owns the Operations systems strategy and implementation
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of Operations systems and processes, including driving better automation, digitalisation etc.
- Drives the case for replacement of legacy systems, paving the way for next generation IT architecture
- Drives culture /people-based change (right people, right processes and ways of working) with the purpose of embedding Integrated Operations into and across the Operations organisation
- Helps to Drive transformation across Operations to incorporate analytics into the organisational approach to solving complex business problems
- Ensures the interests are considered as part of operational decision-making and appropriate trade-offs made
about you
- Ability to work with advanced analytics and data science capabilities
- Experience leading product teams to deliver customer outcomes in an agile working model
- Exceptional influencing and positive relationship building skills
- Able to prioritise business needs and devise and deliver a long-term strategic plan
- Able to translate and communicate complex issues so that these can be understood by a wide audience
- Knowledge of the airline operational environment and drivers of performance
- Experience in optimising across airline operations departments
- Strong working knowledge of airline technology and operational systems
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a large team
- Strong process improvement capability and an ability to inspire change
