Job description
Director of Human Resources
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and develop our Human Resources (HR) Team, delivering a range of professional HR services to external and internal customers across the University of South Wales, ensuring that the service provided to customers is integrated, cohesive, cost effective and aligned to the University’s strategic visions and direction.
As one of the largest higher education providers in Wales, we believe our people are central to our success and with our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for all, this role will provide you with an opportunity to utilise your broad range of professional human resources skills and experience and to develop your career and make a difference.
Our People Plan as an enabler to our 2030 Strategy is ambitious and, working as part of the senior leadership team of the University, the Director of Human Resources will play an important role in working with senior colleagues to deliver progress and clear outcomes against the plan.
Based at the Pontypridd campus, but with the opportunity to work from our other campus locations in Cardiff and Newport, we are looking for an experienced senior HR leader with experience of delivering a range of high quality, cost effective HR services within a large, multi-site organisation who can bring their strategic HR knowledge and skills, and demonstrable experience of developing and leading high performance teams, to support and develop our HR services, ensuring that our colleagues and partners receive excellent, proactive HR advice, guidance and support.
This is a full time, permanent post. We are currently operating a hybrid-model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for part of the week. We offer a number of employee benefits including a generous pension scheme and flexibility in working arrangements.
For an informal conversation about this post, please contact Zoe Durrant, Chief People and Inclusion Officer [email protected].
If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
