Job description
DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION (PRIMARY) – UNITY SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP
Location: Unity Schools Partnership Trust Office, Haverhill, Suffolk
(Schools are mainly in Suffolk, and also in Cambridge, Norfolk, Essex and Havering)
Job start: January 2024 or earlier if possible
This an exciting opportunity for an excellent leader with a passion for education and its continued improvement. The role will work locally and regionally with a remit to influence and shape education nationally.
Following growth in the number of primary schools in the Trust, we are looking for a Director of Education to join the Executive Director of Education (Primary) and a team of two Directors of Education (Primary) to lead primary school improvement across the 19 primary schools, as well as contribute and influence all areas of the Trust’s operations. We are inviting candidates with extensive educational leadership experience and a knowledge and understanding of creating and maintaining outstanding primary practice to apply for the role. You will have a background as a Primary Headteacher and are likely to have been in a leadership role in an existing Multi Academy Trust.
The role will take a key part in setting the strategy for the Trust and its daily operations, working very closely with the CEO and executive colleagues. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of primary education and strive for excellence at a time when the landscape is changing dramatically and when the primary schools are pushing forward with our CUSP curriculum driven through our &iLearn 1:1 iPad project. An innovative and creative approach is key as well as the ability to influence and build relationships. The Trust is looking for a candidate to match the ambition they have and create a culture of collaboration to achieve it.
Unity Schools Partnership is a Multi Academy Trust of 32 schools, with approval to open a further new primary school in Romford. The ambition of Unity Schools Partnership is to achieve a step change in the quality of education provided by primary, secondary and special schools and that its schools are achieving top quartile performance by 2026.
The trust expects its work to be characterised by ethical leadership, an ambition for improvement at pace and the expectation that remarkable change can happen.
