Job Purpose: The Director of Marketing leads the marketing, digital/social media and research functions for MAVTV, with focus on attracting, engaging, retaining and growing viewership through the strategic planning and execution of on-channel and off-channel marketing efforts for the network and associated series, specials, and events. Additionally, this person will be responsible for setting and managing Social Media strategy with regard to promotions, as well as, ensuring efficient execution and delivery of assets for websites, social, affiliates, digital, print, and tradeshow efforts

Duties:

• Planning and executing all marketing projects, including marketing tactics, campaign development and creative oversight for all assets and finished promotional and marketing deliverables
• Present/Pitch campaign strategies and tactics to network leadership
• Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to create successful outcomes
• Create and maintain department level and project budgets
• Develop “partner” relationships (Distributors, Brands, Properties, Vendors) to advance overall marketing objectives.
• Lead consumer research efforts to successfully identify, target and grow audience, and/or improve program performance.
• Create and deliver regular reports on campaign results, marketing-related performance metrics and research findings to network leadership.
• Support day-to-day marketing tasks, projects and activities as necessary, including but not limited to creative development, review & approval, and proofreading collateral
• Lead communications strategy and manage related B2B and B2C media relations
• Traveling to events to activate and communicate as needed, including set up, activation and tear-down

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily workflow of the marketing group and the position’s direct reports
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains for positions that report to the Marketing Director.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations to direct reports.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees and in accordance with company policy.

Physical Requirements:

• This person must be able to sit indoors for long periods of time.
• This person must be able to read, write and think critically
• This person must be able to look at a computer screen and/or television monitor for long periods of time.
• This person must be able to communicate detailed information verbally, as well as via computer, phone, and video conference
• Able to lift 50lbs, in order to assist with event set-up and tear-down
• Willingness to travel as required

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, business or a related field
• Through understanding of marketing strategies and the latest trends
• Self-motivated, ambitious and approaches every challenge as a learning opportunity
• Asks the right questions and can quickly master new tools and tasks
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and deadline driven
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Licenses/Permits Required:

• 7-10 years of experience in similar role at Director or Manager level in media or sports
