Jerome Home is a 120 bed Long Term Care Facility in New Britain, CT. Established under the will executed by Augustus Jerome, Jerome Home is a privately-owned, not-for-profit organization. We are a progressive, nursing community with a highly competent and caring staff. Established in 1932, our multi levels include, RCH and SNF including short-term rehab and hospice. Arbor Rose, an 82 apartment Assisted Living Facility, is also located on our campus.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we are looking for an experienced Human Resource Director. This position will be available in mid-October. The Human Resource Director is a member of the management team and reports directly to the Executive Director. They are responsible for all human resource functions for 300 staff members. These functions include, but are not limited to: employee relations, benefits, compensation, policies and procedures, assist with recruiting and ensure legal compliance with all Federal and State Labor regulations.
We have several on-line programs currently being used by our staff:
- Inovalon is our on-line scheduling program. At the click of a button, you can request time off or request to pick up a shift. You can also send email/text notification to request coverage of an open shift.
- Relias is our on-line education program. Classes are assigned via email for you to complete in the allotted time at your own pace.
- Paylocity is HRIS. We are all direct deposit and you are able to view your check right online. In addition, we communicate to staff through this system.
- Have 5-10 years human resource experience including 3+ years in a management position
- Have prior experience in Long Term Care and non-profit is a plus
- Have strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Possess strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
- Have the ability to communicate to staff and management
- Be staff oriented
- Oversee administration of the group insurance programs, 403b and 401(k) Retirement Plan, and other Welfare Benefit Plans, as well as the administration of the workers’ compensation program.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee written policies and procedures.
- Assist to develop and maintain written job description and performance evaluations for each staff position
- Process CT and Federal Family and Medical Leaves in compliance with CT and Federal FMLA regulations and facility FMLA policy. Also assist staff in processing CT Paid Leave.
- Develop and submit all monthly reports
- Monitor Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment claims/files and keep the Executive Director informed of the status of claims.
- Prepare, recommend and maintain records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data.
- Review benefit programs, to include pensions, annuities, health/life/disability insurance programs, etc. as directed and make recommendations to the Executive Director
- Work with Department Directors to ensure adequate staffing and post needed openings.
- Maintain and update Employee Handbook and other documents.
