Lodgestar Investments has been in the Hotel Industry since 1993. We successfully own, construct and operate different franchise hotels in the DFW Metroplex. We are currently seeking to fill the position of REMOTE Director of Sales & Marketing. This position will be responsible for driving revenue and overseeing the sales and marketing efforts of the property sales.
Job Summary
The Director of Sales will be responsible for selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and additional services to companies or groups the designated property. They will manage accounts, solicit and generate new and repeat business. While this job is remote the position will require quarterly 1 week visits to the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- Assist in developing a Marketing Plan by compiling and analyzing historical data, competitors, create Action Plans and work with corporate in preparing annual sales and marketing budget.
- Use sales system at ‘expert level’ for concentrated market penetration, reporting on specific strategies and effectiveness, utilizing support services as needed. Log all information in sales system and maintain accurate / current files
- Maintain close relationships with major accounts, tourism and business associations to ensure repeat business.
- Manage current accounts / clientele to ensure continued profitability
- Prepare and interpret month end reports.
- Work closely with Revenue Manager and front desk representatives to ensure selling strategies are understood and adhered to for revenue maximization.
- Achieve required weekly Sales Activity goals; such as cold calls, appointments and networking functions, minimum of 25 sales calls per day.
- Complete, maintain and inspect sales related forms and checklists.
- Complete weekly reports and submit them on a timely manner.
- Be familiar with proactive selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and average daily rate.
- Prepare accurate proposals, cost estimates and contracts.
- Maintain flexible schedule including weekends, evening and early morning hours and holidays, modifying hours as needed to ensure best sales efforts
Quarterly site visits will include:
- Conduct direct solicitation and in-person sales calls on assigned / established accounts and potential new accounts, selling all property space and services in an accurate fashion.
- Conduct Hotel tours and entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with the company and property policies.
- Involve active participation in industry and civic organizations representing opportunities for business.
Responsibility & Authority:
- Work with and oversee Sales Coordinator to ensure all goals are met in a timely manner.
- Schedule site visits with Sales Coordinator.
- Deal effectively with all departments and regular communication with appropriate manager.
- Ensure that group / guests have a positive experience and take necessary steps to correct deficiencies.
- Negotiate Group and BT rates, function space, food and beverage prices, and Hotel / Resort services within approved departmental booking guidelines in conjunction with sales coordinator.
- Confirm in writing to the client and all affected Hotel / Resort departments all group requirements via group sales contract, corporate rate agreement, or catering event order.
- Promptly respond to all inquiries and correspondence from customers, prospects, and designated representation firms.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the hospitality industry with 1 year minimum at the supervisory level.
- Be able to utilize and be proficient with Delphi, Hotelligence, Market Demand and key marketing reports of multiple brand.
- Experience selling Marriott systems a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills, including the internet.
- Professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Combines a confident, self-starting, high performance orientation with track record that reflects a can do attitude.
- Willing to work on weekends and holidays as required.
- Valid Driver's License and pass background driving check.
