WORKING HOURS – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

What will you be doing?
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Director of Global Sourcing within our Global Supply Chain Team. Within the role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to source key materials used in the manufacturing of contact lenses/solutions and to ensure continuity of supply for critical strategic materials for Manufacturing, Packaging, and Distribution activities in cooperation with local procurement teams.
You will own the supplier relationship that includes managing large contracts, negotiating prices, monitoring performance and coordinating projects. This includes supplier visits as required as well as managing a team of Global Sourcing Managers geographically dispersed (UK,US,Liege,Asia) who are responsible for managing their suppliers and are the Global Category lead within an identified remit.
Specifically you will:
- Develop and implement strategies in collaboration with the Global Operations Management (GOM) leadership, to manage the sourcing of all strategic materials used in the manufacture and distribution of contact lenses and solutions.
- Implement the appropriate structure and policies to support these strategies, including building a strong global procurement team
- You will develop sourcing plans with the manufacturing facilities that focus on delivery performance, quality performance, cost improvements, and continuous improvement plans for each of the key materials
- Quantify risk associated with key manufacturing materials including probability, impact, and length of recovery in the event of failure.
- Develop mitigation plans that provide adequate protection while minimizing the investment required (looking at the risks, costs, and benefits)
- Work in conjunction with the Global Sourcing team to work with R&D, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Distribution to assess materials used in current products and those that are candidates for new products.
- Develop plans to manage the risk associated with these options. This would include developing business processes to ensure that we are managing the risk for the entire life cycle of component materials (conception to discontinuance).
- Evaluate key performance indicators to ensure that we are tracking our material performance and risks and are taking actions to improve CVI’s overall level of delivery, quality, cost and risk
- Work with key vendors to set up standard T&C’s for Capital equipment and maintenance spares, where equipment is sourced for multiple sites. Ensuring that the commercial aspects of relationships with key vendors are in place in advance of technical equipment discussions.
- Adhere to corporate procedures, policies, documentation requirements, and recommends/develops continuous improvement initiatives.
What key skills and experience should you have?
We would ideally like you to have the following key experience:
- Proven experience in the Procurement, Sourcing or Purchasing of Chemical based products or materials as you will be working with suppliers who are putting materials through chemical based Transformational processes, so a general understanding is necessary.
- Strong understanding of end to end Supply Chain.
- Management experience of a globally dispersed team.
- Experienced problem solver with proven business intelligence, understanding what’s a risk and differentiate problems and issues.
- Experience working and collaborating in an organisation with geographically dispersed colleagues and stakeholders.
