Key Information

Hours: Part time, 30 hours per week, office based, with opportunity for flexible working.

Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (pro rata)

About CentreStage

The Role

This is an all-encompassing financial role working alongside the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Director will lead on the strategic financial planning and finance policy development for the organisation. The post holder will support the board in its financial governance role by providing accurate and timely information in an accessible format. The Finance Director will ensure the organisation is compliant with all statutory accounting and charitable regulations. The Finance Director will support the commercial activities of the organisation, including supporting the financial business planning of the social enterprise activities and the management of tenancy leases.

Key Objectives:

· Work with the CEO and the Audit and Risk committee to ensure that appropriate financial policies are in place to deliver effective financial management.

· The development of a financial strategy that enables and supports the organisation to deliver its 5-year strategic plan.

· Provide financial advice to the board of trustees and act as the interface between the SLT and the board and audit and risk committee on financial matters.

· Prepare monthly management accounts, quarterly budgets and annual cash-flow forecasts and profit and loss projections for the SLT and board.

· Monitor key assumptions in the annual and medium-term budget proposals recommending corrective action where required.

· Lead on the preparation of annual accounts and finance report in collaboration with the auditors and ensuring all statutory accounting standards and regulations are met.

· Lead on the organisation’s relationship with banks, auditors, pension providers and insurance providers as well as OSCR

· Educate non-financial staff in in understanding finance and managing devolved budgets.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

· Preparation of monthly payroll and TRONC

· Submission of monthly pension contributions

· Cash management and reconciliations from CentreStage Café, classes, and events

· Preparation of supporting information for monthly Café/Bar stocktakes.

· Bank reconciliations

· Credit card reconciliations

· Supplier payments

· Preparation of monthly VAT returns (partial exemption)

· Preparation of monthly Gift Aid and GASDS claims

· Preparation of deal calculators for external acts and preparation of final settlement statements

· Management of Restricted Funds account

· Balance sheet reconciliations

· Event invoicing

· Preparation and management of Tenancy Leases

· Credit Control

· Supervision of transactional postings

· Quarterly accruals and prepayments

· Preparation of quarterly Board papers

· Preparation of annual audit papers and lead schedules

· Manage and control cash.

· Managing merchant service accounts

· Preparation of forecasts and budgets

· Management of utility contracts

· Ensure compliance with internal controls across all booking systems.

· Support the development of funding applications.

· Management of income from Grants and Foundations and preparation of financial monitoring reports for Funders

· Reporting of Grant Funding Expenditure

· Management of licencing

· Financial Review and Management of Capital Contracts

· Participation in Net Zero Accelerator programme and preparation of monthly carbon accounting

· Preparation of Commercial Combined Insurance Policy documents and Working with Broker

· Supporting the new Fundraising Strategy

· Supporting the business planning process for café, conferences, classes, and tenancies, shows and events.

Line Management Responsibility

The Finance Director will work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team, and no current finance team will have line management responsibility for the Administration Assistant.
