Develop systems, processes and capabilities in our factory leadership teams to enable the delivery of sustained expected performance in the areas of Engineering & Continuous Improvement. Support the development of engineering and operational standards across the Eagle manufacturing platform. Manage through others but also be willing to personally engage in solving the toughest problems or leading the largest projects. Support sourcing and capability assessments of potential co mans in partnership with R&D and procurement. Work with R&D and co-man partners to commission and qualify production in co man facilities.
Essential Functions
Business Acumen/Technical Knowledge:- Experience leading a continuous improvement program including practical, hands on experience with Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, DMAIC and process-based Problem Solving
- Experience successfully managing a broad suite of engineering projects, ideally in the food industry, with spend levels up to $10M
- Ability to Work with Others: experience delivering results in collaboration with others and maintaining respectful working relationships with leaders, peers and subordinates
- Ability to Analyze Data and Solve Problems: able to analyze information, develop plans of action in coordination with others and see those actions thru to implementation, be they individual actions or actions assigned to others. Ability to assess if the implementation of actions delivered intended results, and if not adjust the implementation to ensure the delivery of the intended outcome. The ideal candidate can identify not only problems brought to them by others but also find problems others may not know existed and coordinate the activities of others to fix them

- Ability to manage 3rd party vendors including engineering firms, construction firms and OEM’s.
Manage the annual capital budgeting process with the plants and finance. Monitor project status and spending curves throughout the year. Engage on requests for funding that were not in the budget and participate in trade off discussions as needed.- Provide technical oversite and peer review of plant capital projects.
- Engage with site engineering managers on project management approach and milestone programs (Define/Design/Install/TT&T, Commission – Qualify) to ensure projects are well managed and deliver intended results.
- Develop clear, consistent equipment commissioning protocols for use in Eagle production facilities as new assets are integrated and started up.
- Develop company engineering standards, as needed, for implementation in Eagle factories.
- Identify preferred engineering partners for our sites to use on future projects.
- Lead the development/enhancement and deployment of the company CI program (‘Eagle Performance System’ - EPS).
- Partner with the plant managers, plant HR managers and plant CI leaders to develop consistent approaches, standards and training materials for CI work in our factories in accordance with EPS.
- Partner with the plant managers and site CI managers to develop a CI implementation plan for their factories and engage on its’ delivery.
- Identify when and where external consultants will be leveraged to support EPS implementation. Where external resources will be utilized, develop the plan and contract in support of the external engagement and oversee 3rd party activity
- Partner with IT to identify technology platforms that can support efficient and effective operations (i.e. CMMS, line event data, factory automation, etc.)
- Support R&D and procurement with co man identification and capacity/capability vetting. Where co mans need to install new assets to support production of Eagle items, review plans and cost estimates in support of fair pricing proposals and to confirm feasibility of timelines. Where requested, engage on co man commissioning/qualification.
Minimum degree and experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience ideally in both engineering and operations verticals (at a minimum one of ops manager, CI manager and/or plant manager on the operations side)
- Hands on experience managing CI and engineering programs in a factory environment and driving performance with these programs
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects and initiatives. TPM or Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience creating programs vs. implementing or sustaining programs created by others preferred
