The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), including NF1, NF2-related schwannomatosis, and schwannomatosis.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Research Education and Engagement is responsible for integrating science team activities with the external research, clinical, and patient communities. He/She will collaborate with the communication and marketing teams, ensuring content is accurate and current.
The Director of Research Education and Engagement will define and implement patient education programs in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders. He/She will plan, manage, and execute the annual NF science conference and ad-hoc workshops.
Responsible for managing the content of webinars, virtual conferences, and research-related communications. He/She will oversee the content creation of all patient brochures and impact communications. The Director of Research Education and Engagement is also responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and execution of the annual patient Summit and expanding the NF registry and patient support function.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the team responsible for scheduling and developing programs and content for all NF Research and patient events.
Collaborate with the community to run ad-hoc workshops on specific, timely topics.
Define and implement patient education programs in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
Support educational projects that will advance research and care in the NF community.
Collaborate with the Science team to build a robust strategy to expand the NF community.
In conjunction with the Communications team, provide content for all research, donor impact reports, patient-facing documents, and brochures.
Innovative thinking and extensive writing to create robust online content for patients and the general public.
Ability to write effectively with consistent language for all educational levels.
Synthesize research and scientific information into patient-friendly content.
Manage staff and volunteers and execute external grant proposals.
Represent CTF at scientific conferences and collaborations.
Performs additional duties as required.
Working Conditions, Equipment Used, and Special Information
Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness and possess remarkable tact, discretion, and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Flexible for overnight business travel. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
