Role Summary
EQ's Global IT function has begun a transformation journey to support EQ's transition into a stronger, more profitable, product-led business, driven by real insights and the needs of its customers.
The Data Director will perform a key role in this transformation through the definition and delivery of a strategy for data to underpin and accelerate the transformation ambition. They will identify, prioritise, and deliver initiatives and new ways of working to evolve EQ's data culture, foundational capabilities and the value obtained from EQ's data assets.
They will lead a team to work closely with business and technology leaders to ensure that data is being managed, governed, and used to its fullest potential whilst complying with regulations and industry standards.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver EQ's group-wide strategy for data and analytics, aligned with the overall business strategy
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify insight-driven opportunities for growth and efficiency
- Construct, prioritise and manage a strategic transformation roadmap of data and analytics initiatives
- Direct the implementation, rollout and benefits realisation of new data management and analytics capabilities
- Develop and implement a data governance strategy to control and drive improved quality and consistency in EQ's data
- Define a product-led approach to data and analytics initiative delivery and ownership
- Define a data culture action plan to grow data fluency across the organisation and drive data product adoption
- Collaborate with leaders to ensure data policies, procedures, and guidelines meet regulations and industry standards
- Build and manage a team of data and analytics professionals and provide leadership and guidance on data-related matters
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors related to data at Equiniti
- Stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies related to data and analytics to evolve the strategy
- Infuse a sense of ownership and pride amongst team members to deliver high quality, self-managed work outputs
- Build a strong talent pipeline through hiring, internal movements, succession planning and talent reviews
- Enable a culture of continuous improvement and learning, by coaching team members and role-modelling self-development
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, statistics, or business desirable but not essential.
- Leadership experience defining and delivering business focused data strategies
- Experience delivering insight, analytics and data management capabilities and initiatives.
