Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Client Partner, the Business Director will support and drive growth of the assigned accounts through balancing day to day operational support and leadership to the teams with a strategic approach to the client in order to enhance our service offering and overall performance. They will:

Take the lead in establishing and nurturing strategic client relationships/engagement across all their brands/markets

Coach and train direct reports (and any more junior client services individual working on the same team), leading by example in delivering client services excellence through the lens of our CAPE values

Work closely with the Client Partner and actively contribute to the financial forecasting/resource planning process of their accounts

Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of Indicia Worldwide

They main areas of focus will be Client Relationship, Growth/Business Development, Account Management, People Development & Engagement, Financial Accuracy and Strategic Direction.

Client Relationship Management

  • Leverage all aspects of the client’s relationship and utilise knowledge to have maximum impact on the client’s business
  • Represent Indicia Worldwide’s culture and CAPE values at all times when liaising with clients
  • Lead by example in ensuring that their direct team are also developing strong relationships with their client stakeholders and provide support whenever needed
  • Drive engagement through consistent and meaningful data driven interactions with the client
  • Act as a ‘go-to’ person for their clients and help them defining the strategic direction of their marketing/production plans.
  • Ensure that the client’s needs are effectively translated for Indicia Worldwide’s delivery teams to provide a best in class service
  • Invest significant time with client stakeholders across the allocated markets and accounts

Growth and Account Management

  • Proactively develop and implement initiatives to expand Indicia Worldwide’s offering to the client
  • Ensure that the direction of all the work and deliverables reflects the client’s strategy
  • Identify opportunities within the client business for increased scope of Indicia Worldwide’s capabilities
  • Identify successors and ensure a plan is in place for short-, mid- and long-term succession.
  • Ensure a balanced management concerning growth and client management in the allocated accounts
  • People Development & Engagement
  • Support and facilitate development of the teams according to the feedback provided by the client and internal stakeholders
  • Build and facilitate such environment where the team feels empowered and engaged to thrive and deliver the company’s strategy
  • Ensure that the team have a relevant and reliable flow of information on Indicia Worldwide’s strategy, relevant client updates and internal ways of working
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders – team, client and senior leadership as well as any other support function in the business

Financial Accuracy

  • Ensure sound financial management and profitability of the assigned account
  • Ensure reliability of the forecasting process, taking full ownership of the financial process and promoting accountability within the team
  • Support the Client Partner’s and Chief Client Officer in the yearly budgeting process

Strategic Direction

  • Support Client Partners and Chief Client Officer in bringing Indicia Worldwide’s vision and goals to life.
  • Provide meaningful insights and relevant direction to Client Partners and Chief Client Officer to ensure that Indicia Worldwide is able to respond to short, mid and long term needs of the client
  • Present, consult and discuss with clients independently re potential new opportunities or areas where Indicia could add further values and to seek support from Client Partner or other Subject Matter Experts whenever needed

Skills, knowledge, experience and exposure

  • Significant background in Account Management, ideally coming with an Account Manager/Senior Account Manager background, and/or Account Management teams leadership experience
  • Demonstrated high level of exposure to multicultural and international environments and ability to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders of all sort of cultures and backgrounds
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and ideally the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in one or two additional European languages
  • Relevant experience in the marketing/client management industry, including Retail and FMCG
  • Relevant experience in an Agency environment would be beneficial
  • Full understanding of entire end-to-end marketing process, from client strategic requirement to deliver cross-channels.

They will also be able to keep a long term view and manage pressure of the client and leadership, driving a culture that empowers their team members and facilitates accountability.
  • The Business Director is a people centered leader and will make their team a priority, finding always time to have meaningful interactions, quality time through 1:1’s and building a trustful relationship by providing and gathering feedback on a regular basis. They will proactively provide support to their teams and will feel accountable for the development of their direct teams.

Role Requirements

  • The Business Director will be expected to spend a significant amount of their time on client interactions, with a preference to have them on a face to face, meaning that significant travel will be expected within the regional or scope. Attendance to potential internal business meetings may result as well in travelling internationally.
  • They will be expected to perform in a flexible environment, but ensuring delivery. In exceptional circumstances, overtime may be required to match client or internal deadlines.
  • The Business Director will be expected to conduct regular 1:1’s with their direct reports, ensuring that team’s motivation and wellbeing is kept track of.
