The Director of Accounting is responsible for the accounting in an omni-channel company. They will interact closely with the Luxor management team and EBSCO corporate office. The Luxor work environment is fast paced and team oriented; there will be a strong emphasis placed on reporting, financial analysis, and overall continuous improvement for this role. The Director of Accounting has responsibility for managing the Accounting department, and assures that processes, policies, and procedures are in place so that all accounting transactions are posting accurately and with proper oversight. S/he will ensure the accurate, timely and clear delivery of the monthly financials in accordance with GAAP standards through leadership of the close and consolidation activities along with fostering an effective internal control environment. S/he will lead process improvement initiatives to achieve efficiencies in the accounting function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management and execution of the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions and the timely preparation of month-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.- Manage all accounting activities including monthly close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and additional processes to ensure proper accounting.
- Create monthly financial statements, analyses and other key management reports.
- Help develop and maintain policies and procedures that are appropriate for a reseller and e-commerce sales organization and which are consistent with Luxor’s parent company EBSCO Industries.
- Develop, maintain and enhance internal controls to assure protection of company assets.
- Establish metrics (KPIs) for all operational initiatives; develop data presentation format and report to CFO on a monthly basis.
- Review contracts and agreements for appropriate accounting treatment.
- Within the ERP (NetSuite) system, work with other functional areas on integration issues and the determination of appropriate workflows.
- Oversee the A/R, and A/P functions through direct management of the A/R and A/P team.
- Identify any areas of the business which are not following standard processes and work to drive standardization across all BU’s.
- Assist CFO with acquisition activities.
- Provide direct reports and department members with appropriate training, coaching, and motivation that enable their success and establish a positive working environment.
- Attract, hire and develop A-player talent in all roles in the Accounting department, along with conducting employee performance reviews to evaluate performance to ensure the requirements of Luxor are met, and that high performers are challenged with additional responsibility.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong communication and presentation skills- Ability to work well with all levels of employees
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Work experience:
- Minimum 10 years Accounting experience in a corporate setting
- Background in public accounting, or Director of Accounting level experience preferred
- Minimum two years Management experience with direct reports
- Education experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting of Finance required, CPA preferred
- MBA or MA in Accounting or Finance preferred
Computer equipment and level of software requirements:
ERP system experience required, SAP and NetSuite preferred- Exceptional advanced Excel skills required
Specific Knowledge, licenses, certifications REQUIRED:
Strong GAAP knowledge
