Our happy and smiley 13-year-old client lives at home with his parents, dog and 2 cats and is supported in achieving his therapy goals by his small care team. Interviews are being booked now so please get in touch if you think the job below would be a good fit for you.
The Role:
- Our client has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and uses a wheelchair full-time, he therefore requires round the clock support with all aspects of his daily living including personal care, feeding and medication.
- He is currently non-verbal but working with his therapists and team, along with using eye gaze and a smart box to communicate, and gaining confidence with verbal language.
- Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given along with supervision and support of the private therapy team.
About You:
- You will support our client by following his care plan and implementing his therapy programme. You will provide support with feeding, hoisting, personal care and administration of medication.
- You will be flexible, reliable, patient and have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a child with additional needs and supporting him whilst helping to develop his skills.
- You will have experience working with children or adults with Cerebral Palsy or similar needs and will be a driver able to drive our client’s large, automatic vehicle if necessary.
- You will hold an NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care/Care Certificate (or equivalent).
Pay:
- £10.42 per hour sleeping night
- £15.00 per hour waking night
Shifts:
You will be offered an average of 22 hours per week and shifts are shown below. Additional hours including day shifts may be available to cover staff annual leave or sickness. Nights are mainly sleeping nights and you will be paid at waking night rate £15 per hour for the whole night if disturbed more than twice and/or for a long period of time.
Nights: 08:00 pm to 07:00am (11 hours)
- Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights (33 hours)
- Week 2 - Friday night (11 hours)
- Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights (33 hours)
- Week 4 – Friday night (11 hours)
