What you'll be doing


You will be joining our small team on Balfour Beatty Living Place’s Herefordshire Public Realm Service. The team manages the full range of project-level communications to build and maintain relationships with external and internal audiences to deliver an exceptional customer and colleague experience.

Your responsibilities as a Digital / Social Media Apprentice will include:


  • Filming and editing video content to be shared across external social channels such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Creating content to share key messages to colleagues through our internal communications channels
  • Sourcing assets such as photos, videos and graphic designs to create new content with, ensuring content complies with Balfour Beatty brand guidelines.
  • Researching content ideas and developing written copy for publication alongside digital content
  • Innovating and presenting new content, digital and social media strategies
  • Supporting the team to celebrate successes and help organise employee engagement and recognition activities
  • Measuring and reporting performance of content and digital marketing campaigns against goals
  • Keeping in-the-know about new social media sites, technologies, and digital trends and insights; implementing these new technologies in developing campaign content or new media channels

Who we're looking for
  • You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4/C or above, including English, coupled with a passion for social and digital media
  • You will demonstrate some technical ability with the use of video and photo editing software (Adobe Premiere/Photoshop or similar)
  • Ideally hold a full UK drivers’ licence
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK at the time of joining
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • You will have a have a friendly, flexible approach to your working day and a willingness to work with and support colleagues
  • You will have an enthusiastic, engaged attitude and eagerness to learn and develop personally and professionally and the willingness to take responsibility for your academic and vocational development
