Job description
You will have responsibility for ongoing development and improvements of our digital products across ecommerce, mobile, CRM, loyalty, in-store technology, etc. with the aim of enhancing our consumers' experience. Bridging the technical and business worlds, you will work with colleagues across the business to deliver against our product roadmap. You will be someone who loves to make things happen and gets excited about identifying and delivering simple solutions to complex problems at pace. This role will continuously build on the customer experience through developing the website and delivering new initiatives, in turn providing a benefit for our shoppers, internal users and the business alike.
- Digital product management
- Define and manage the digital product backlog, support execution of our digital and technology strategy through delivering sprints to meet that aim, whilst ensuring new features are released on time with a clear benefit or output
- Working with the business stakeholders, engineering teams and overall digital function to drive a fast paced agile methodology
- Bring together stakeholders throughout the development process
- Create feature stories, working with developers on acceptance criteria and managing the delivery of the stories into the platform and into the business, ensuring relevant colleagues are trained on new features and have all materials required to allow for the ongoing benefit of features delivered
- Accountability for the successful implementation and adoption of new digital products, features and technologies
- Work alongside technical teams to design services, launch new digital products and enhance existing site functionality that our customers will love
- Engage and influence senior business owners to define and prioritise requirements
- Build structured business requirements, combining inputs from stakeholder groups, a deep understanding of customer needs into user stories to feed into agile development teams. Translate these into detailed product specifications (e.g. user stories, acceptance criteria, mock ups etc.) for the relevant development team to implement
- Build working understanding of the limitations of the technical platform to support decision making.
- Work cross-functionally during the design, build and release phases, to ensure the build is delivered on time to the required standard
- Experience with ecommerce platforms
- Provide digital product knowledge and insight for colleagues across our business
- Understanding modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Agile development experience
- Can breakdown a large change into multiple constituent parts in the form of user stories
- Find compromises on technology solutions where appropriate to deliver the best value for the business
- Able to deliver software development/integration projects that cover front-end, backend, online and offline
- An understanding of online shopping behaviours
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in leading multiple teams both internally and externally
- Strong team management and coaching skills
- Ability to easily build relationships and maintain them
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to influence peers and management
- Organisational skills
