We require a Digital Media and Performing Arts Technician to work within our college. The role will include providing support to and liaison with both departmental staff and students. Excellent organisational skills are required and the ability to multitask. Key responsibilities in the Media and Film department will include: To service/maintain equipment, to loan out cameras via the college Digital Media Inventory Database, and to assist students and department staff with the use of the equipment and photo and editing software included the Adobe Creative Suite. The job role will require regular student-facing tasks in which the post-holder will need to be confident to teach and support them on how to use media equipment. Key responsibilities in the Performing Arts department will include leading on the running of all technical equipment in the Theatre for live performances and student assessments, supporting staff and students in the production of music and video assessment work, and teaching students with an interest in this area how to run the technical side of theatre. They will also be required to support in the Digital Music Production suite with programmes such as Cubase and Sibelius, as well as support students in the recording studio.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in a range of media-based programmes, including how to solve any errors within software editing programs, sometimes in time-pressured settings. They will be highly organised and versatile, and have the ability to communicate well with staff and students in a classroom environment. A relevant qualification and/or experience of working in a similar role would be desirable and knowledge and experience of digital editing programmes is essential.
