Within the Digital Marketing Technology Team, we focus on capturing, storing and using digital marketing data and maintaining our Digital Marketing tracking and Advertising Operations. Acting as a conduit between a wide range of stakeholders in the Sainsbury’s business we work directly with our Platform partners, like Google and Facebook, to develop and innovate upon best in class Digital Marketing tools. In this role you will lead in modernising how we do this and have the opportunity to pioneer new ways of working with our websites & apps including Sainsbury’s Groceries Online Habitat, Tu Clothing, Nectar and Argos.
The day to day for the team involve taking a hands-on approach to advancing our Digital Marketing channels performance. Whether through our own ingenuity and connecting business data into our channels or by working directly with industry leading platforms & agencies. Our role is to build and then maintain capabilities which will improve our approach to acquisition and sales.

As our Digital Marketing Exec you’ll:
- Implement and maintain marketing tags and SDKs
- Management of the Advertising Operations process, such as the building of URL trackers
- Support the Analytics teams to debug tracking and measurement issues
- Project manage the delivery of new technology solutions or capabilities
- Develop beneficial media partner relationships with market leaders to ensure we are not only adhering to best practices, but setting the standard in how advertising technology is used
- Work with and influence internal Developer & Data Governance Teams to release changes into our production websites and apps.
Our Digital Marketing Team would love to see from you:
- Experience of implementing and optimising web tagging and app SDKs
- Experience working in at least one Digital Marketing channel
- Experience in managing, maintaining or optimising digital marketing technologies
- Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders and manage project delivery across several different teams and agencies.
- A can do attitude with an interest to learn and develop on the go
Desirable
- Knowledge of how ‘cookies’ & ‘server-side’ tracking work
- Ability to influence highly technical teams, such as website developers
- Good knowledge of marketing attribution and how different Ad servers / attribution tools work
