Job description

Who we're looking for

This is a fantastic opportunity for a digitally and data-minded, early-career marketer to build their experience and skills within Cazenove Capital, the wealth management arm of Schroders in the UK. The marketing and communications team consists of 13 people and covers everything from brand, digital, campaigns, content and events.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful digital marketing executive to join our busy, 'always-learning' team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for digital - driven to find out how things work and how to improve performance.

The role also requires a data-driven mindset. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate confidence and objectivity working with data, as well as familiarity with data security and privacy regulations pertaining to financial services.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing for Wealth Management, the purpose of this role is to provide crucial support to the team, boosting our production capacity and efficacy, improving our reporting and ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges, while broadening the collective skillset of the team. This will be achieved by undertaking content production, data gathering, reporting and administrative tasks, as well as becoming a super-user of our automated marketing platform (Adobe Campaign) to support the production and delivery of client emails.

This entry-to-digital-marketing role is suitable for candidates in the early stages of their career with 2+ years of relevant experience and/or graduates (from University or technical college) who've studied computer science, data science and/or digital marketing.

About Schroders

We're a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.

We have around 5,000 people on six continents. And we've been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn't change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.

The base

We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team

The digital marketing team plays an increasingly critical role in reaching and converting new clients and, for existing clients, strengthening their affiliation and loyalty to our brand, products and services. Using specialist digital tools, customer data and performance data, we target new and existing audiences, refine and optimise our content and marketing messages to user experiences that reflect the highest standards of quality that imbues everything we do.

On a day-to-day basis, this translates into building and publishing digital marketing collateral and content on our owned and paid channels including websites, search, social media and email. We also maintain and, importantly, continually seek to improve our digital channels, tools and data repositories in our Martech stack.

What you'll do

  • Prepare client emails for delivery (using Adobe Campaign) and conduct pre-delivery technical and data checks.
  • Run reports on email performance. Research and suggest ideas for improvement.
  • Support team-wide client data hygiene efforts: running regular data reconciliations, responding to colleague requests to access and understand consent data.
  • Manage digital marketing team inbox, making sure all inquiries are routed to the right people to help, for a timely response
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of wealth management websites: producing and optimising content using our content management system, proofing and SEO tools.
  • Build and proof-read social media posts (using Oktopost). Monitor responses and reaction to social media posts, escalating where necessary.
  • Prepare reports on social media performance, as well as key trends and competitor activity.
  • Help keep the digital marketing team working to SLA: ensuring all jobs, planned and ad-hoc, are recorded in the activity tracker with the appropriate level of information and a deadline.
  • Support the development of digital campaigns including maintaining schedules, setting up meetings and agendas, collecting, analysing and presenting KPI data.
  • Contribute to digital and data training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Keep up to date with trends/news in digital marketing and data management, sharing observations and ideas with the wider marketing team.
  • Attend meetings and cover leave in the digital team as required to ensure continuity of service.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • A qualification (University or technical college) relating to computer science, data science or digital marketing/marketing and/or two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience working with data: collecting data from various sources, verifying, analysing and presenting data and derived insights
  • Experience analysing data, extrapolating insights and recommendations
  • Strong Excel skills

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Experience uding marketing automation tools (e.g. Salesforce, Pardot, Adobe Campaign)
  • Experience using Enterprise content management systems (e.g. EpiServer, Sitecore, Contentstack
  • Experience using Data visualisation and analysis tools, (e.g. Power BI)
  • Experience using Content optimisation tools (e.g. Google Search Consoles, AHrefs, SEMrush)
  • Experience using Social media tools (e.g. Oktopost, Hootsuite)

What you'll be like

  • Strong communications skills – particularly writing, editing and proofreading. (A flair for conveying technical information and concepts to non-technical audiences is a big plus!)
  • A relentless eye for detail, to spot inconsistencies or errors in writing, adherence to brand guidelines, tone of voice, data sets and/or code.

We're looking for the best, whoever they are
