Visit Kent, Visit Herts and their parent company Go To Places, are responsible for supporting and growing the tourism industry in Kent, Hertfordshire and other destinations, through outstanding marketing campaigns, expert advice, robust research and funding know-how.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to provide digital and communications support to market our business support services and increase engagement with a range of vibrant and dynamic tourism businesses in our destinations. The role will also support the work we do to promote our destinations to international travel trade partners.
This Apprenticeship role will enable you to develop skills and capabilities and equip you with the experience and opportunities to make a real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity for a person looking to build a career in Marketing.
What you will be doing:
- Support the team with the planning and creation of regular B2B e newsletters via third-party programme.
- Support with updates to the B2B websites and other ancillary resource hubs through the CMS, including content writing, page design, creation and ongoing management.
- Support with the planning, running and monitoring of B2B social media across all channels, including creating posts, scheduling content and engaging with followers.
- Using Google analytics and other digital tools to track performance across a variety of channels on a regular basis.
- Work with colleagues to manage our general enquiries inbox, responding with timely and helpful information.
- Creation of campaign toolkits, presentations and business-facing collateral where required.
- Assist in the preparation of trade events, familiarisation visits, itinerary planning and booking arrangements where relevant.
- Support the team with the delivery of campaigns, including coordinating the onboarding of partners encouraging them to get involved with opportunities.
- Supporting with event planning, digital invitations, and attendee management.
- Supporting with market research.
- Producing marketing activity reports for partners to include tracking and gathering data.
- Database and CRM management.
- Arrange meetings (booking rooms, organising attendance and producing minutes).
- Develop positive working relationships with key partners, as well as suppliers and external consultants / contractors.
- Attendance at work events / meetings / team workshops (where relevant).
This is a varied role which supports the B2B marketing, travel trade and destination development functions of the business and therefore duties will be allocated where required.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly articulate with an excellent command of written English with copy accuracy.
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A keen interest in contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced, motivated team.
- Well organised and self-motivated, able to work under own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of different digital marketing channels.
- Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good time management skills and attention to detail.

Reporting to: Destination Manager (Projects)
Salary: £10,296 p/a for first year, increasing to National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage
Location: Hybrid working; a mixture of office [Canterbury] and home working, which will be managed by the line manager. Some travel around Kent, Hertfordshire and south east will be required.
Type of Role: Fixed term role 18 months
Full time (including 9 hours/week study time)
