NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a Digital Executive.
Purpose of the role
We have an exciting opportunity within NHS Supply Chain for a Digital Executive to join our Digital team.
The Digital Executive will work as part of a team responsible for developing and
publishing digital content. They help to ensure that NHS Supply Chain’s
business strategies and key operational updates can be understood and
responded to by the required audience (both external and internal).
Responsibilities include a wide range of digital marketing activities, collaborating
with colleagues from all parts of the organisation, some elements of graphic
design, analysis / reporting and web management. A natural planner and
organiser, the digital executive acts as a subject matter expert when consulting
with colleagues from across the business.
What does a Digital Executive do at NHS Supply Chain?
Creates, edits and delivers digital content (publishing), occasionally print-ready content.
Digital marketing plan execution – supports with creation, editing and planning as directed by line manager.
Digital channels and technology – works cross-functionally with all stakeholders to recommend and agree optimal channels.
Data collection and analysis – analyses data, develops reports and advises the wider team to ensure optimum reach of communications.
Internal client relationship management – builds effective working relationships and processes to aid smooth and efficient delivery of digital communications.
New websites design and delivery – acts as part of a specialist team on project-based new or improved digital solutions.
Graphic design and page layout design – supports other team members with developing concepts and proposals.
Acts as a customer or audience champion at all times, supporting the development of new and existing user experiences (UX).
Supports all key elements of digital content enhancement including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and social media integration / feeds.
Supports delivery and the consistency of messaging for all communication channels, both internal and external to the business.
Internal communications, change or corporate communications – supports colleagues with design and development.
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, maintaining accuracy and quality.
Understanding and experience of compliance with appropriate legislation, brand and guidelines to include proof-reading.
Experience of collating information or media from multiple sources and delivering content for communication to different types of audiences.
Knowledge of or experience working in healthcare sector, government or procurement.
Experience of managing high quality content and management of websites and / or social media channels.
Knowledge of eCommerce, updating product catalogues, taxonomies and categories, or organising large volumes of data.
Electronic mail expertise – best practice knowledge and ability to use bulk email sending tools – for example Mailchimp, Eloqua, DotMailer or Salesforce.
Ability to understand user journeys and product sales ‘funnels’ or Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO).
Experience of using Content Management Systems – ideally WordPress – to create or edit website pages.
Ability to identify and assess impact of communications or digital content, within the context of a wider campaign or the consistency of presentation on key themes.
Creative skills and the ability to work unsupervised, producing high quality output.
Planning, organising or project management experience, ability to adapt to multiple ways of working or changes to processes.
Analytical skills, ability to identify trends or areas for improvement.
Previous experience of working in a regulated environment or a large scale corporate or public sector organisation.
Knowledge of any of the following would also be an advantage – Adobe Suite, Technical SEO, HTML, CSS or WordPress Plugins.
Flexibility, adaptability and ‘can do attitude’.

Hybrid working; a blend of home and office working 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home.
