Job description

We are looking to bring on a new member of our team to help us get our customers found online.

While a degree is not required, this role is ideal for recent graduates or anyone looking for an entry-level position.

Our team's structure allows us to offer clear and steady progression and increased compensation based on your increased responsibilities.

At BUILT, one of our core values is helping our team progress. Currently, two members of the team have specialised in an aspect of digital marketing they've chosen. If successful, we will encourage progression & learning by providing courses, resources & our experience to help you with your digital marketing career.

About us

BUILT is a small team providing websites and online marketing services to trades professionals (such as plumbers and electricians), helping them to manage and grow their businesses. Bringing tech to a very traditional industry has its challenges, but also its opportunities. Since we first launched in 2015, we have built over 800 websites for our customers.

We are currently a team of 3. As we are growing the company and our customer base, we are currently at capacity and are looking to bring on support.

Since COVID-19 we have successfully transitioned to working remotely. You will be working from home primarily but we will ask you to work with us in person twice a week for the first month for training. After the first month, we will ask you to come in once a week along with the rest of the team.

The role

This position is for a full-time position dependent on a 3-month probation period. Among the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Making discovery calls with new customers to help understand their business and the services they offer
  • Writing content for new websites
  • Writing content for existing websites that are looking to improve their SEO
  • Using our easy-to-use system to build new websites
  • Establishing an online presence for customers via tasks relating to Google My Business, social media and more
  • Making sure our customers are happy with the service they are receiving

The ideal candidate

Please note that we are not necessarily looking for anyone with any web-building experience. Instead, we are looking for an individual with the right personality, ambitions and traits for this role, including:

  • Excellent organisation skills as you will be responsible for your own projects
  • An interest in digital marketing, specifically how small businesses can use an online presence to win themselves more work
  • Self-motivation and ability to learn independently
  • Great communication and confidence on the phone (our customers love speaking with us on the phone)
  • Excellent writing skills

Desirable skills

While the following are not essential skills, they will definitely put you at an advantage over other candidates:

  • Customer service experience
  • Professional phone experience

The application

For your application, we would like for you to write a short blog post. This will allow us to judge your research and writing skills, as well as if you will be a good fit for our team. Please don't spend more than 1 hour on this, as we don't want to take up too much of your time and would like to see what you can achieve within the hour.

The title of the blog post we would like for you to write is "Benefits of having a central heating powerflush." Don't worry, we don't expect you to know this off the top of your head (or even what a powerflush is), so feel free to have a quick look online at similar blog posts and resources.

Here are some guidelines for the content itself:

  • Write in the 1st Person point of view throughout the content.
  • Use appropriate formatting options such as headings, bullet points, bold text, italic text etc.
  • Include (fake, dummy) contact details throughout the content, such as phone numbers and email addresses.

Once completed, please send a copy of your blog post as a cover letter. Please note that if we do not receive a blog post along with your CV we will not consider your application.

If you are successful we will get in touch to arrange a Zoom interview. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you!
