What you will be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to join Thames Water as one of our Digital IT Analyst Apprentices. This is a great opportunity to learn the essential skills that are already in high demand across the industry and will set you on the path to your future career.
You’ll complete your apprenticeship through a mix of online/virtual learning and periodic residential block release at their dedicated training centre in Wyboston Lakes, Bedford where accommodation will be provided.
As a Digital IT Analyst Apprentice you will undertake a fully funded Level 3 IT Solution Technician apprenticeship which will support your learning and to become qualified. You will be mentored and supported to learn, develop and become competent by our experienced and supportive Thames Digital team.
The areas in which you will be supported and develop is below:
- Providing an excellent IT customer experience to required standards.
- Contribute to team success, by demonstrating Thames Water values, sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Being the first point of contact for IT issues from the Thames Water user community.
- Receiving, logging, and managing calls from internal employees via telephone, email, self-service, and Drop-in clinics.
- Continually improving first time fix rate and identify opportunities to improve first time fix rates.
- 1st and 2nd line support - troubleshooting of IT related incidents from in-house software to hardware, such as mobile phones, Laptops, PCs.
- Providing hands on support, Imaging and swapping out of IT equipment.
- Take ownership of user incidents and communicate progress in a timely manner
We’re looking for you to:
The entry requirements for this Level 3 position is a minimum of 5 GCSEs or Level 2 Apprenticeship equivalent (apprenticeship or BTEC in a relatable subject). A level 3 certification may be acceptable depending on the units covered as there will need to be sufficient new learning to be considered.
Don’t worry if you don’t have your grades yet, if you are due to sit your exams this year, we still want to hear from you if your predicted grades meet our requirements.

The starting salary will be £20,000 with a yearly pay review and full studies funded by Thames Water. You’ll also receive 24 days holiday, pension and other benefits. Travel costs are covered for travel to and from your university studies.
