A Digital Champion helps their organisation and its internal team to maximise the full use of technologies across the business including the CRM, licensed produce software and digital systems and applications. Maximising the business knowledge and use of Google and/or Microsoft platform is fundamental to ensure all staff can confidently utilise these tools efficiently to work collaboratively, save time and drive forward results within their job role. Learning to adapt to and exploit changes in technology to meet the organisation objectives is a key part of the role and understanding how these can drive forward productivity across the business.

You will work toward the following modules on your Digital Champion programme:

  • Wellness and Workload Management
  • Digital Applications
  • Organisational Importance and Legislation
  • Digital Infrastructure and Using the Cloud Effectively
  • Cyber Security
  • Coaching and Presentation Skills

The role will provide the right candidate with a broad range of learning experiences. We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices, you won’t be left on your own to figure things out, we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with a range of partners such as Tablet Academy, Microsoft and Google.

As part of this opportunity, duties include:

  • Auditing the company’s current use of technology
  • Support the internal setup and maintenance of the new company CRM
  • Promoting the use of new and existing technologies
  • Staff training and support on digital systems
  • General office administration duties; greeting customers, answering phones, responding to emails, supporting with digital diary management, customer quoting and invoicing
  • Providing digital administrative duties to all areas off the business
  • Using a range of digital office technologies, such as social media tools, SMS, live chat and video chat, Microsoft and Google technologies and help others to become familiar with these platforms
  • Maintenance of social media channels and production of digital marketing content
  • Assisting with the company security protocol and information security and understanding the importance of Data Protection and GDPR legislation.
  • Responding appropriately and effectively to internal or external enquiries; providing support and information using utilising digital channels where appropriate
  • Operating a range of digital information systems and tools to maintain information and to support service delivery.
  • Communicating effectively in writing, verbally and face to face appropriately through different digital channels, including e-mail, telephone, and collaborative technologies.
  • Using digital resources to extend knowledge and skills in the use of new digital systems or features and other skills
  • Operating in line with organisational policies, standards, legislation, professional ethics, privacy, and confidentiality.

As a Primary Goal apprentice, you will have access to:

  • Blended learning programme with a mix of flipped learning content and live sessions
  • Live sessions delivered by Ed-Tech experts i.e. Google and Microsoft trainers
  • Level 3 Digital Application Technician apprenticeship standard
  • Access to e-learning training materials and online webinars
  • Specialist vendor and technical certifications for example, Microsoft Innovative Educator Programs and Google Educator awards
  • Monthly work-based coaches visits and competency checks
  • 9 am – 5 pm Support desk for technical support

Being part of the Primary Goal community will give apprentices access to a range of other apprentices (with varying levels of experience) who can share good practice and offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other!

Apprentices will have access to specialist industry partners for technology on hand to provide advice and support, access to resources and themed training days.

The Primary Goal portal is an online dashboard that will provide apprentices with a knowledge base to access information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Maintains thorough and organised approach to work when working with digital technologies and prioritising as appropriate

You will need to be:

A creative individual with a good level of literacy to carry out a range of creative and technical roles within their business, from image creation and editing, social media content creation and back-end analysis, through to assisting with the digital systems across the business to improve business efficiency. The role will provide the right candidate with a broad range of learning experiences. They will be providing a vital role within the business, with the ability to make a positive and lasting impact.

Key Qualifications:

A Digital Champion is not expected to have undergone any formal training or hold qualifications for this role but some informal learning relevant to the role is desirable. Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths or equivalent Grade C/ 4 or above

Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to engage with internal and external colleagues and customers face to face and/or remotely
  • Enthusiasm and motivation for supporting a busy office environment by understanding the digital systems and processes and helping to make these more effective
  • A passion for supporting a business to grow their systems usage, develop training materials and support staff to use these more efficiently
  • Desirable experience would include a passion for supporting a small business to achieve growth and develop an understanding of organisational legislation, infrastructure and cloud environments, cyber security and coaching skills

Hours:

40 hours a week, 8.00am- 16:30

Salary:

£13,520

Duration:

18 month apprenticeship programme
