DIGITAL FORENSICS INVESTIGATORS SOUGHT IN THE GREATER MANCHESTER AREA
SALARY: £30,000 - C. £38,000 DoE
Job Description
Main purpose of the role: To conduct intelligence led digital forensic investigations on computers, mobile devices and other digital devices.
Maintain awareness and compliance with current quality policies, procedures and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates / modifications related to ISO accreditation and the Forensic Services Quality Management System.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of the Forensic Services Quality Management System.
- Commit to and take responsibility for participating in continuous professional development and proficiency / competency testing.
- Support and contribute towards research and development of new techniques and methods in response to changing technologies and the requirement for continuous improvement, ensuring the forces digital forensic capability becomes and remains a Centre of Excellence for digital forensic investigation.
The Successful Applicant
- Degree level qualification in a technical, digital forensic or computer related subject, or relevant experience demonstrating the same level of knowledge/experience.
Completed and achieved training in any main commercial forensic tools (Eg. X-Ways, EnCase, UFED, XRY) (Desirable)
Completed Forensic Software Training to advanced level.
Practical experience working within a digital forensics environment dealing with low complex investigations, with minimum supervision and support.
Practical experience working within a digital forensics environment dealing with a wide range of investigations with varying levels of complexity and minimum supervision.
Experience in communicating to and briefing staff/ investigators in digital forensic methods.
Significant practical experience working, unsupervised, within a digital forensics environment dealing with a wide range of investigations of varying levels of complexity. In addition, experience dealing with lengthy and highly complex multi-agency, multi-case investigations/operations.
