Job description
Digital Education Officer (Proof Reader)
Salary: Grade 5 (£25,742 - £29,605 p.a. depending on experience)
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
In the Digital Education Service, we enable the University’s 10 year strategy for the growth of fully online education, through the provision of specialist online learning design and development expertise. Our focus is on engaging, accessible and inclusive learning experiences, underpinned by innovative digital pedagogies and technologies. We work collaboratively with academic partners, learners and across our teams through an evidence-based, solutions-focused, design-led approach.
As a Digital Education Officer (Proof Reader) in the Online Learning Team, you will bring a passion for online education to support the creation of innovative, inclusive and impactful online learning materials from subject matter content provided by academic colleagues and subject matter experts. You will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge of the effective and creative use of virtual learning environments, rapid authoring tools and document creation, and your understanding of instructional design and pedagogy, copyright and accessibility in online learning. In this role, you will bring a specialist skillset for proof-reading, with excellent attention to detail to review for consistency and provide feedback on spelling, punctuation and grammar for a range of digital assets and multimedia.
We are a large team, with a commitment to quality online education and learning from each other. We work flexibly to understand learners’ needs and academic colleagues’ aims and work in partnership to achieve the shared goal of an effective and enjoyable online learning experience for our students.
