Birkbeck Digital Education is looking for a talented, forward-thinking person to join our enthusiastic team. Birkbeck’s corporate strategy ‘Vision 2021-26’ (PDF doc) sets out plans to “transform lives through inspiring teaching that is accessible and inclusive”. This involves ensuring that students can succeed through flexible high-quality teaching, combining inspirational campus experiences with online learning and support in a dynamic blend.
We have already made rapid progress with our digital education strategy. All modules taught from 20/21 onwards have been designed using the new ‘Birkbeck Blend’ and built to a consistent quality. We are currently piloting new teaching models, new tools and new approaches to support. Therefore, there are opportunities for the postholder to get involved in different areas of the domain.
You would be primarily but not exclusively academic faculty facing, working collaboratively with teaching and support staff and the central Digital Education team. You might be consulting with staff on module design, developing learning materials, running a workshop, managing a project or even designing a Moodle plugin so you will need to be adaptable, communicative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the field.
At Birkbeck we have a flexible working policy with modern offices in Bloomsbury. We would expect you to be resident in the UK and able to attend our campus when necessary to support our staff and to attend meetings.

Remuneration
Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £42,365 rising to £48,424 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
