About the role:
As Digital Learning and Teaching Environments Manager you will lead a team in instructional design and digital learning development. Working closely with our Delivery Team you will support our instructors to reimagine their curriculum and develop new ways of delivering content and bringing the most suitable learning technologies to bear.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead and manage the Digital Development Team to drive forward the digital learning transformation of the FSC Delivery function.
Lead the development of new and innovative digital education solutions tailored to the user needs, bringing examples of new and different approaches from national and international settings to ensure that the FSC is sector leading.
Be the interface between curriculum delivery and technical development to interpret learning requirements into digital assets.
Collaborate with and support Delivery Team Leaders in planning the integration of technology into the curricula, providing instructional design to redevelop products from a traditional to a blended delivery model.
Liaise across the Learning Delivery and Transformation Team on the development and use of Digital Learning technologies and provide significant input into the strategic development of relevant teaching and learning policies and strategies with the College.
Lead and manage complex projects associated with the review, feasibility, implementation, and development of the VLE, enhanced learning and digital transformation.
Support the Sales Team in the development of client-focused products that optimise technology providing innovative solutions.
Undertake horizon scanning and sector benchmarking in Digital Learning, providing advice and guidance for the development and implementation of new initiatives and strategy in this area.
Provide leadership for curriculum renewal and redesign projects incorporating different delivery models across the FSC to support and shape the delivery transformation.
Work with key internal stakeholders on the development, delivery and review of the digital learning strategy across the FSC, supporting individual staff in developing and implementing new approaches to teaching and optimising course structure as well wider curricula development activities.
Develop opportunities and platforms for innovative and disruptive courses responding to internal and external customer needs.
Support the Delivery Team, including our pool of Associate Tutors, to build knowledge, understanding and confidence in the use of digital learning technologies within the classroom setting.
Assist delivery staff in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.
Work with the division and local IT teams to achieve the college’s instructional goals and support the development of a long-term digital learning strategy.
Engage in ongoing learning to remain current in emerging technologies, trends, and research, and model effective practice in 21st-century teaching and learning strategies.
Develop and lead a small and effective team responsible for the creation of digital assets, enhancing the VLE and working with third parties on the digitalisation of the FSC offering.
What we’re looking for:
Setting, in agreement, challenging personal and team–focused goals and targets.
Implementation of a variety of teaching technologies
Experience in the Instructional Design of quality programmes based on sound pedagogical principles
Working within an educational environment, preferably Further Education, Higher Education or Corporate Development
Expertise using eLearning development tools such as Articulate 360, VR/AR experience
Setting up and customising Moodle Workplace (coding etc)
Programming experience with Scratch, Python, and/or other languages.
Knowledge of current classroom technologies such as interactive whiteboard software, LMS software, Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps for Education, etc.
Proficiency in managing both Apple (iPad and laptops) and PC devices.
Experience in instructional technology
